Do watch winders work for all automatic watches?

Yes — any automatic (self-winding) watch with a rotor will work with a watch winder. They are not suitable for manual-wind or quartz watches. If you're unsure whether your watch is automatic, check the caseback for “Automatic” or “Self-Winding” markings.

What is the best material for a watch winder?

Both are premium choices. Carbon fibre winders offer a modern, technical aesthetic and are extremely durable — ideal for contemporary watch collections. Leather winders provide a classic, traditional luxury feel. The best choice comes down to your personal style and interior.

Are Aevitas watch winders made in Britain?

Yes — our Made in Britain range features handcrafted wooden watch winders produced in the UK using premium materials including burl wood and piano lacquer finishes.

What is the best watch winder for a Rolex?

Rolex watches typically require 650–800 TPD in a clockwise or bi-directional setting. Our winders are fully compatible with all Rolex models including Submariner, Datejust, and GMT-Master II.

Are watch winder safes worth it?

Yes — for serious collectors, a watch winder safe combines active winding with secure storage and protection against theft, fire, and humidity. They're ideal if your collection has significant value.

What is the difference between CW, CCW, and bi-directional winding?

CW (clockwise) and CCW (counter-clockwise) refer to the direction the winder rotates. Bi-directional means it rotates both ways. Most modern automatic movements wind in both directions, but some (like certain Rolex calibres) wind most efficiently in one direction.

What is a watch winder and do I need one?

A watch winder is a motorised device that keeps automatic watches wound when they're not being worn by mimicking the natural motion of the wrist. If you own one or more automatic watches and don't wear them every day, a winder prevents the movement from stopping, saving you the hassle of resetting the time and date each time you pick it up.

Can a watch winder damage my automatic watch?

No — a quality watch winder will not damage your watch. Modern winders include rest periods and directional settings that replicate natural wear patterns. All Aevitas winders are engineered with programmable TPD settings and rest intervals to protect your watch.

What TPD setting should I use for my watch?

TPD (Turns Per Day) varies by brand and movement. As a general guide: Rolex requires around 650–800 TPD, Omega 650–800 TPD, TAG Heuer 650–900 TPD, and Breitling 650–950 TPD. You can find a full TPD database for all major brands on our TPD settings guide . Where are your products manufactured? Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value. How many watch winders do I need? One winder per automatic watch you don't wear daily. If you have a growing collection, a multi-watch winder is a more elegant and practical solution. We offer single winders, 2-watch winders, and multi-watch winders for larger collections.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver TPD | Aevitas

If you own a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver (15703ST, Cal. 3120), here are the correct watch winder settings to keep it running accurately.

Recommended Winder Settings

Setting	Value
Turns per day (TPD)	600
Winding direction	bidirectional
Movement	Cal. 3120

Why These Settings Matter

Setting your winder to 600 TPD bidirectional matches the Cal. 3120's winding requirements. Too many turns causes unnecessary wear; too few and your Royal Oak Offshore Diver will run down and stop.

All Aevitas winders offer programmable TPD settings from 650 to 1,850, so you can dial in the right setting for your Royal Oak Offshore Diver.
